Years 11 and 12

In Year 11 students enrol in a pathway and courses that best suit their interests, abilities and future academic goals.

The College runs a comprehensive course selection process to support this important decision for students and their parents.

Students can choose a pathway that matches both their goals for the future and their abilities. We pride ourselves in matching the right course to the right student, based on ability and interest. More information can be found by contacting the College or by downloading our 2020 Senior Schooling Curriculum Handbook booklet.

You can access the powerpoint from the Year 10 Parent Information Evening from here.

Subject Selection Online - available online from 2 July 2019

In 2019 the College will again be using Subject Selection Online (SSO). SSO is a state-of-the-art program that streamlines the course selection process for students and parents by having all relevant information available in one place.  This will be available to students and parents during the course selection periods in Term 2 and 3.  To view curriculum handbooks, make appointments with staff and pay deposits click the following link to access SSO

Endorsed Programs:

An endorsed program is a significant learning program that has been developed for students in Years 10, 11 and 12.  The program may have been developed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority), or it may have been developed by a private provider, such as a university, community organisation, training institution, or a school, and subsequently endorsed by the Authority.

Endorsed programs address areas of learning not covered by courses.

Each endorsed program consists of a series of lessons, classes and/or activities designed to lead to the achievement of a common goal or set of learning outcomes.  Endorsed programs can be delivered as part of the school curriculum or as extra-curricular activities.

All endorsed programs successfully completed and reported to the Authority:

  • are listed on the student's WASSA
  • may contribute towards the breadth-and-depth requirement of the WACE
  • may contribute towards the C grade requirement of the WACE.

For WACE purposes, a student can achieve a maximum of 4 unit equivalents from endorsed programs, two in Year 11 and two in Year 12.

Each endorsed program is allocated one, two, three or four unit equivalents.

Here are some examples of endorsed programs:

  • Workplace Learning (ADWPL) to record work experience and part-time employment
  • Administration and Management (ADAM) for students on the Student Council
  • Music Performance Ensemble (ADMPE)
  • Recreational Pursuits (ADRP) for students involved in the Creative Writing Club, or Engineering Club
  • Elite Sports Performance (ADESP) for state or national sporting representatives
