Prefects tour Foodbank WA
FoodBank WA Prefect Tour
On 10 August, the Prefects along with Mr Glossop, Miss Davis and Mr Taaffe attended an excursion to the FoodBank WA warehouse. After arriving, the Prefects were given a tour of the huge warehouse by David and Janie, two full time employees at the organisation. They saw where the non-perishable foods were stored and even got to stand inside the icy fridge and freezer! They were shown the area that customers go for buying ready-made meals and other food items. Later, the Prefects were taken to the FoodBank kitchen where ready-made meals are made from the donated food and met the talented chef that works there.
Being able to take a closer look at the company that supplies our breakfast club every Wednesday made the Prefects feel grateful to FoodBank for everything they have done for the College over the years. I'm sure a few of the Prefects will be keen to volunteer for the FoodBank in the future!
