JOHN FORREST CROWNED NATIONAL T-20 BLAST CHAMPIONS

Full of excitement and anticipation Jha Chalermsuk, Emma Davidson, Clariza Featonby, Portia Harp, Tegan Kennett, Mavis Lyndon, Lataya Martin, Amy Skett, Sharlene Thorne and Stephanie Willey, left the college to embark on an opportunity of a lifetime - playing cricket on the biggest sporting ground in Australia.

The John Forrest team represented Western Australia after winning the State title and competed against teams from South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and Northern Territory.

The girls bowled and fielded fantastically and were a credit to themselves and the college. The final game was set up by our openers, Emma and Clariza, with Sharlene, Portia and Jha hitting a few over the fence.

Special mention must be made of Peta Verco, Specialist Cricket Teacher and former Australian Test Player who coached the team of predominantly Specialist Netball students, and the Cricket Academy boys who assisted with coaching.

To cap a whirlwind couple of days for our Champions, the girls were welcomed home at Perth Airport by Ricky Ponting and Andrew Flintoff.

Congratulations go to the girls on a fantastic effort.
