China Stars International Friendly Games 2012

Ten students from John Forrest Secondary College's Specialist Tennis Program and their coach, John Campbell, took an eight day trip to Beijing to take part in the China Stars International Friendly Games during the Easter holidays. 250 students from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and China took part, the largest number of participants since the games started. John Forrest was the only Public School present at the games.

The students each played five matches against Chinese teams and were able to play at the National Tennis Centre at the Olympic Venue. Alex Downey didn't lose a match and the girls played some of the top Chinese players.
